The Gospel
Mark 1:14-15…”Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”
Compared to…
~1 Corinthians 15:1…”For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures…”
In Corinthians, seems Paul is actually describing the events that validate and establish the Kingdom message, the gospel. The resurrection vindicates the King. The gospel then is the arrival of the Kingdom.
I am not making an assertion as much as I am asking a question.
•Does that nuisance deserve more “air time” among Christians/Yeshuans so to speak?
•Do you think that Kingdom spiritual reality is somewhat overlooked because it’s harder to understand and explain?
•How might you explain to someone that the Kingdom of God is at hand.
Trying to understand the present spiritual reality concerning the spiritual Kingdom present within us here on earth etc., all that language gets muddled in my head a bit, probably because I’m so used to thinking materially.
•Is the Kingdom then righteousness, peace, joy, in the Holy Spirit alone? (Romans 14:17)
•Is it simply the idea that humanity belongs with God?
•Would you say the gospel is the announcement that our reality is not empty or indifferent, but that God has drawn near and humanity is invited into life with Him?
•It’s maybe the proclamation that humanity belongs with God?
I’m always trying to better understand and better articulate the good news as completely, accurately, and succinctly as humanly possible. You have helped me with that in the past. Maybe you will help me once more.
Thank You,
~TL
