I believe we are still under the law of love. To love God and others, including ourselves. If we allow the Spirit of God, who lives in us, to work in us , by His power we can be transformed. I try to look at things through a lens of love. Are my words or actions loving?
With your examples of drugs and pornography. The illegal drug trade is not only harmful to your body, it is also harmful to the people involved in the drug trade. Pornography can involve sex trafficking and exploitation of vulnerable people. It also effects your brain negatively and changes how you view people, as objects rather than your brother or sister. Do these examples produce love, in particular agape love?
Have you seen Shawn’s teaching on the tree of knowledge of good and evil? The Spirit of man vs the Spirit of God? I also highly recommend his verse by verse teachings of Romans. Especially Romans 5 and 6.
